The history

Since the founding of the National Museum in Leskovac in 1948, the collection of material of historical content and significance has begun, which has made the History Department one of the oldest. He collects objects and knowledge concerning the development of Leskovac and its surroundings from the Middle Ages to the present day.

Over 12,000 items of the historical department were organized in 14 collections and 5 funds that thematically cover a wide area of ​​spiritual, political, cultural and everyday life, emphasizing the events and personalities who marked the life of Leskovac and its surroundings.
