Documentation

“Documentation is a material trace of the present and, over time, it becomes a cultural heritage”.

The documentation section has been established to achieve the advancement of digital methods and techniques for preserving, presenting and analyzing cultural heritage and providing a systematic, quality and uniform access to digitized material.

Continuous arrival of new materials requires efficient professional processing, a simpler process of data entry, permanent and secure storage and access to the data entered for further processing, study, protection and presentation.

In the documentation section of the National Museum in Leskovac, the tasks of entering data on cultural property from the museum are organized and executed in the Central Register in accordance with the established rules on keeping the Central Register, and in cooperation with the curators of collections. This task also involves sending data and documentation from the National Museum of Leskovac to the central register of the National Museum of Serbia in Belgrade. The work of secondary documentation of all sections of the museum is organized: audio-visual funds, daily issues library, media library, records on exhibitions, records on conservation and restoration procedures, records on educational activity, records on professional and scientific work, records on publishing, documentation on marketing and public relations, documentation on the founding and history of the Museum.
