History of art
In the middle of the seventies of the last century, after the opening of a new museum building, the National Museum in Leskovac bought paintings from the private collection of Živojin Pop Cenić from Belgrade, who is of Leskovac origin. Paintings by Jovan Bjelić, drawings by Titelbach, Dragan Lubarda and other Yugoslav authors of the twentieth century were among the purchased works. That was the basis for the formation of the Art Collection, which currently has 384 works of art. Most of the paintings are made with the oil on canvas technique. The rest consists of works on paper (drawing, watercolor, gouache, graphic sheets…).
