Early Byzantine Collection

This collection is one of the smallest in the Museum. It contains archaeological material of the early Byzantine period from the sites in the basin of Leskovac. First and foremost, objects from archeological excavations of the multi-layered sites of Skobaljić grad, the Jašunja Monasteries – the church of St. John the Forerunner in Jašunja and Kale in Grdelica – from early Byzantine horizons. The collection also contains some interesting accidental findings which the Museum was gifted with.
